Hello! Namasthe.
Photography is my world. I have always loved and lived within the frame of this world. Motivational speakers talk about making a career out of your passion; a lot of us can doubt if such a thing can be made possible but I am proof to this passion pudding.
Adirala Studios was started in 2016 as a one-man company. I was the king, the minister, the sepoy and the adviser of Focuz Studios. I marketed myself, I booked and billed my shoots. I shot and edited videos and photos, I printed and delivered them to clients. Sometimes I am unable to imagine that I made all of this possible at that time, why I even wonder if I can make this happen another time around, but the initial phase of journeying with Adirala Studios made me believe in my dream. A lot of my well-wishers talk about how I have worked hard and made this happen, but to me, Focuz Studios started as a passion project and I was joyful when I worked. In the short life we live, we must do and make a living out of what gives us joy and I am grateful I followed my dream.
The greatest advantage of working in a startup is that you get a hang on all the ins and outs of every domain related to your work. I had studied cinematography but textbook learning cannot be compared with practical know-hows. When the beginner in me made mistakes, the mentor in me corrected him; when the hard worker in me was tired, the friend inside me cheered me up, and every act at Focuz Studios has been an adventure that entailed learnings, knowledge and the trust of all the people who chose to sign up with me.
Team Adirala Studios
It’s 2022 and here we are at Focuz Studios as a company with 25 people who have made a choice to be a part of my dream journey. I can see the pleasant burden weighing on my shoulders – I am responsible for their careers as much as I love building this company with them. We are an organisation today, a community of photography enthusiasts who love doing what we do. Our standards are very high and our creative productivity is world-class.
From Paris to Srilanka, We have covered over 600 weddings across the world. We have set the bar really high in terms of skill and content; we have experimented with packaging and innovated within the sphere of our art. We are grateful we have earned the trust of our clients but I must also tell you that we don’t deal with our clients as if we are business people.
I love the stories we make out of our lives and every client gives us an opportunity to help us build their stories. We capture their moments and we give them their beautiful narrative. Photography is also meditation; we need to observe and be in the moment to capture moments one frame at a time. Our team believes in the work that we do, and the responsibility we shoulder: to capture moments and build visual memories for our clients.
Honours and Initiatives:
In 2010, I wanted to be a visual storyteller and I braved my doubts and insecurities to follow my passion. But every passionate individual needs a trustworthy partner and Canon has been that for me. Canon inspired me to take some of my best pictures; their technology is cutting edge and one can create wonders out of what Canon offers.
In this journey with Canon, I was also recognised as a Brand Ambassador by Canon and I am currently an EOSInfluencer. This recognition means so many things but I am mostly thrilled that I will walk closely with Canon, hand-in-hand for the rest of my life. Here is a snippet from Canon’s announcement that I will cherish forever: “We are pleased to announce Chandru Bharathy @chandrubharathy as our new Canon #EOSInfluencer. A cinematographer & editor, Chandru has more than a decade experience in photography. His desire to capture ‘the moment’ instead of the event started him off on a journey to revolutionise the Indian wedding photography industry.”
In addition to this, I have also begun sharing my photography knowledge through my YouTube Channel . I have come across so many talented amateur photographers who are unsure about where to look in order to build a professional career in photography. While there are many tutorials on photography online, they are not comprehensive enough for a beginner. Also, most of these tutorials are in English but how will people who don’t have access to the language learn photography? This thought prompted me to create my videos in my mother tongue Tamil.“We are pleased to announce Chandru Bharathy @chandrubharathy as our new Canon #EOSInfluencer. I have over a decade of experience in photography and I believe that this knowledge needs to be shared widely. In my youtube videos, you will see how I have broken down complex ideas into simple steps. From photography to photoshop to cinematography, I have covered them all and if you are a native tamil speaker looking for someone to handhold you into this journey, you will benefit out of my channel.
I look forward to continuing this journey with people who have chosen to trust me, and I look forward to meeting so many of you and capturing your life’s precious moments.
Your truly,
Raviteja Adirala
